The Reading Retreat at Lakeside is a place where students and staff can gather to read, collaborate, create, learn, and explore. We want to instill a love of reading for pleasure and information while inspiring our students to be creative, innovative, and critical thinkers through reading, research and exploration. The Reading Retreat includes a Learning Lodge where students are introduced to new concepts through read alouds, explicit and implicit instruction, and collaboration. The Discovery Den is where our students participate in hands-on activities and learn through tinkering, making, and exploring.
The Reading Retreat is open from 7:40 am to 2:10 pm (1:10 pm on Wednesdays).
